Gaining community
support for your government grants proposal
An essential ingredient
in most proposals is gathering community support. Once you have completed
your proposal in writing, you should seek out the support of member of the
community such as academics, public officials, relevant associations, etc.
If you are able to collect numerous letters of support for your proposal,
then this may be persuasive to the agency to which you are requesting a
government grant.
Another way to gather community support is to host a community meeting
whereby you invite all parties who have an interest in, or are likely to be
effected by, your proposal. Not only may this provide you with a greater
level of community support, but some of the feedback you receive may help to
improve your proposal.
